What is something that should be taught in high school, but isn’t?

I have a short answer:

How to learn.

We learn a lot, or cram/rot memorize, but rare actually learn how to learn. It took me 20 yrs of my life and about 17 spent in different tiers of formal education to actually realize that.

My primary school teacher(in Nigeria) once furious that we had forgotten what she taught during the last lesson asked: so do you learn to forget?

Unfortunately, the answer is yes. With the current system of education. We have to know that academic learning is not the best way for a lot of people, and we need to learn how to learn.
